DeWALT DW735 Planer Thicknesser

This is the planer/thicknesser I use constantly in the ENU workshop. It does most of the heavy lifting when I’m turning rough or reclaimed timber into consistent stock for builds.

Why I use it

Most of my timber starts out rough, uneven or reclaimed, so the DW735 gets used on almost every build. It’s powerful, predictable and makes it easy to bring a batch of timber down to a consistent thickness without a lot of fuss.

Would I buy it again?

Yes. For the amount of reclaimed timber I process, it has become one of the most important machines in the workshop. It’s not cheap, but I use it enough that it earns its space.

Helical cutter upgrade

I replaced the original 3-knife cutter head with a FindBuyTool helical cutter head. It changed the machine noticeably, particularly for tear-out, finish quality and cutter maintenance.
